Formula 1's first night race, and one of the most physically demanding. The track runs through the city streets around Marina Bay under floodlights, and the heat and humidity mean drivers lose a lot of fluid over a race distance.

Key corner

Anderson Bridge and Turn 13

The cars cross the Anderson Bridge, which is more than a century old, and go straight into a left-hand hairpin, one of the slowest points on the lap.

Heat, humidity and wind

Singapore sits almost on the equator, and the temperature barely drops after dark. With so little wind, the heat and humidity have nowhere to go.

What it asks of the driver

Nineteen corners with almost no straight to rest on, walls on both sides, and the heat and humidity on top. The FIA has declared a Heat Hazard for both the Sprint and the Race this year.

What it asks of the car: downforce, drag, brakes

With so many slow corners, teams run maximum downforce, which also means maximum drag, so top speeds are among the lowest of the year. There is no DRS in 2026. Straight Mode flattens the wings to cut drag instead.
